"Orange" is already pretty fucked up linguistically because the color is named after the fruit, which is named after Dutch royal family. For all I know, "orange" is a verb that means to declare independence from Spain.
Maroon is also a noun! It referred to the wilderness communities made by escaped slaves. One in the Okefenokee Swamp lasted for years.
