ECS is really cool! I built a toy ECS engine with a friend in our game dev class back in college and wrote a little subset of Baba is You- it made assigning properties and the undo system a breeze actually!
I've basically done no gamedev outside of GameMaker in the mid-to-late-'00s, but what I've seen of ECS engines (in rust at least) is really cool! Seems to make just about everything a ton easier.
