im just now picking up game dev in earnest and am starting with godot. nodes seem pretty intuitive but havent really dived all that deep yet

i'm gonna be real, i haven't dug enough into godot to have an informative opinion. i don't like nodes because they don't make sense to me and appear to incentivize god objects, but i've never done a full project in godot so any criticism i make would be misinformative at best

fwiw unity nodes and godot nodes have fairly different vibes; in particular godot nodes don't have components, they just have child nodes. and there's no multiple inheritance. so in my limited experience code tends to get compartmentalized a bit more. or if you are a newbie gamedev then you might just do a ghastly amount of copy/pasting because the idea of putting functionality in child nodes and calling those would not yet occur to you
