Cypher Review

What a delightfully weird movie. A dash of Philip K. Dick, high-concept y2k sci-fi, and a handful of other ideas that must have been rattling around in the director's brain. It has a handful of shortcomings (their bumbling attempts at noir influence, MacGuffin-dense plot, and the painfully corny third act in particular) but it has that gonzo charm that only mid-budget sci-fi can have. Add another zero onto the budget and they never would have gotten away with "bulletproof CGI helicopter that looks like a space ship."
If there are no defenders of terrible 2000s CGI, I am dead.
