it is announced at last!!! i am so excited to share all this stuff!
51 minutes of experimental SNES chiptune treating the soundchip like the quirky 8-channel sampler that it is! featuring microtonality, glitches galore, heavy manipulation of the chip's available effects + parameters, and all sorts of unusual, often homegrown samples.
everything was written and exported to blank SNES ROMs using osoumen's C700 VST (or forks of it by @doctorn0gloff and @great that add extra functionalities), then recorded straight from my Super Famicom!
this is my first full-length non-compilation album in 3 years and i focused hard on making something that resonated with me personally and employed the kinds of sounds i wanted to hear. i also really went hard on exploring just how incredible and fucked up you can make the SNES sound! the answer is VERY. it was extremely fun, i experienced pure joy over some of my discoveries.
it's available for preorder right now on the iiiypad bandcamp--
and there will be a listening party on 7jam.io (+ streamed) on release weekend, so stay tuned for information about that!!
