i love the tatami galaxy and all its spinoffs so much. what a delightful tale and stellar cast of characters. you would think it would lose its luster at some point - i have watched the show three times, watched the night is short walk on girl even more times, read the book version of that, recently read the book version of the tatami galaxy now that it's translated into english, and this evening i just finally watched the tatami time machine blues, which was a fun little standalone romp 'sequel' of a new story in that same framework (it was a short anime basically the length of a movie.. maybe had a little more in common with the original than the night is short did). but nope, i still find it just as heartwarming to fall back in. it is my favorite
tomihiko morimi's a great writer, yuasa's a great animator and director, and his company are also great at following up on his vision
