this post is dedicated to the humble chickèd pea, one of my favorite foods
they are delicious in so many things and in so many ways. and they are a major force behind hummus, which is perhaps the greatest snack. anybody got some sick tried-and-true hummus recipes btw? never tried making it at home but i've wanted to for a long time. lay em on me...
salads and curries are probably my favorite ways to consume this object. they roast up real nicely too. recently i made a chickpea curry BURGER from mashed chickpeas, spices, scallions and some other stuff, and that turned out great
for whatever reason, i also remember that the first thing i ever cooked with another person (besides family) was a chickpea tikka thing with a highschool gf who was vegetarian. we drank hot tea (come to think of it, this was around the same time i got into tea, another important one for me) and feasted upon warm toasty chickpeas and i realized cooking could be pretty fun actually. and it still is, all these years later!
i dunno why i'm posting about this mundane thing, i guess because i had chickpeas in both my lunch and dinner today. just... shout out to chickpeas ok
