it's pretty good! a fresh take on an old classic. they definitely tried a lot of new stuff and willfully, deliberately stepped outside of whatever you'd call the mario comfort zone. the fancy "wonder" parts of the levels, where things in the level go crazy and some new mechanic appears, are... well, to me they are a bit sensory overloading and flashy, perhaps stressful at times, but still the highlight of the game. the music's really good. the game is cool, but i wouldn't say i'm blown away by it. probably really fun with friends tho! haven't tried that yet
