#9 - book club
clearly, i should have been paying more attention to the list of prompts. i wrote about a book yesterday. today i'm thinking about a "game club" thing i did with a bunch of folks in the summer of 2020, when everyone was drumming up ways to stay connected and do group events with one another online. we all nominated a video game each month, one was chosen from among them, and periodically throughout the month we'd meet up in a voice chat to talk about our progress and hang out. this was how i finally played okami! well i didn't beat okami but it was still a very fun experience on switch with the motion controls (a thing i rarely even like). i remember the game club fondly, i wish it hadn't been relatively short-lived. and what a specific but cool little era of the internet. friends were inventing all sorts of reasons to get together virtually when we couldn't otherwise.
