today i was very tired, i didn't sleep well and my stomach was kinda squelchy since last night, perhaps because i dared to drink a single glass of wine. BUT i powered through it this afternoon and finished this 1-bit ZX Spectrum beeper ballad which i'm really happy with:
i accidentally started a running gag/theme with my first beeper song for Advent Calendar, which was themed around being from a nonexistent old record. i did a second one from the fake album tracklist for the Christmasasaurus holiday comp, "I'll Be on the Computer for Christmas", and now here is the third, which i wrote singing and playing the piano and then arranged for ZX in the spirit of the concept. at this point i have basically committed to writing this entire 1-bit holiday album. it truly is a lot of fun, way more than i would've expected. the engine i've been using allows for 4-note polyphony with some crude wavetableing and "volume control" in the form of amplitude on said wavetables. ZX rules actually!
