Thought this was a bizarre anti-teamwork screed until I remembered the other meaning of the word "collaboration".
It specifically means working with people oppressing your community.
Thinking about it, I guess it comes from WWII, like "nazi collaborators" were people in Poland/France/etc who worked with the nazis to save their own skin. It was probably a euphemism originally, but now the word itself has taken on that connotation.
