I think like. a part of growing up was realising a lot of things I'd been taught were stupid (hip hop, "girly" stuff) were actually smart, and a lot of things I'd been taught were smart (white guys in suits, armchair philosophy) were actually stupid- ...and I also see a lot of people who grew up never realising this and grew into the most pseudointellectual right wing cranks. I think this is where the paths split for many people

Youtube user Innuendo Studios said something about how they don't really want things to go back to the way they were 30 years ago, although that's what they'll claim. What they really want is their innocence back. They want reality to be as simple and harmless as they once imagined it to be. This is why they react so viciously to educational campaigns; education is the theft of innocence.
