Belated intro post. I’m Meredith Gran, a game developer, cartoonist and animator living in Philadelphia. My work:

Octopus PiePerfect TidesPerfect Tides: Station to Station
A webcomic I wrote & drew from 2007-2017, about people in their 20s navigating city life. The thing I might be most known for. I occasionally revisit it in new stories when I'm not consumed by game dev. Free to read online 'til I die, but also available in a nice little box.My first game and most personal work, a Y2K-era teen memoir inspired by 90s Sierra point n' click adventures. Written & coded in AGS, with environment, music + sprite help from a small and mighty team. Released in 2022.The biggest, best one yet. What I'm usually talking about on here. A sequel set in 2003, exploring college life and the making of a writer. In its 3rd year of development, expected to release in 2025.

When I'm not doing these things I'm busy raising my son, eating all the vegan food in Philly, vegetable gardening, and lifting weights. I think and read about video games a lot. I have a collection of retro games, which my brother and I play on Twitch every Wednesday. I plan to swim all summer long.

I just played Perfect Tides a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it! It made me miss a lot of aspects of my Y2K childhood (definitely don’t miss a lot of being a teenager though, woof).

I’m also currently re-reading Octopus Pie (slowly) with the new commentary.

It's great that you're on Cohost. I often get reached out to by people in comics who are interested in creating games, and I often recommend you as an example. I hope that is OK with you.

I think comic artists have a keen sense for storytelling in a way that transitions to games quite well, and have a sense of pace and timing that is sought-after in games.

Been a fan since Octopus Pie started, best of luck juggling the kid and finishing up Station to Station!

Hey, I actually learned about Octopus Pie from @valerie when she was talking about doing colors for you, and I was just like "oh dang she does great colors tho I gotta check this out" and I'm really glad I did. :)

I backed Station to Station in part as a way to get the Perfect Tides key, and I still haven't gotten to it in my backlog hahaha, I should really get to it soon those vibes sound important for me these days
