Honestly, my plan for meeting new people is adjacent to that - trying to actively join and participate in more Discords and forums for the stuff I like, whether that's fandom or fiber arts. (I do have a personal fedi instance, but as I'm actively allergic to most of the Fediverse, it'll just be a place for me and like-minded friends to scratch that "poasting into the void" itch.)
It's just a shame about social media sucking hard because in theory, it neatly combines the "yell deranged thoughts into the void" need with the "bond with people over your deranged thoughts" need, whereas there's no guarantee that your fellow members of the knitting circle are as deranged as you are.
Anyway, I know that I am Just A Guy who plays the game that you make and that introduces all sorts of weird parasociality into the mix, but if you pick up FFXIV, Warframe, or GW2 at any point, I would be down to help you learn the ropes.
