Appreciate this to although, despite this art it's hard for me to picture them doing anything but like, tripping from dimension to dimension across some kind of broken reality.
agreed, that was definitely the idea the first game's level progression gave me.
Jumping through doors forever- through ruins and swamps and crystal caverns and literal hells but never reaching that green pasture they can see in the distance 😔
yeah, the few dozen pixels of blue sky and green fields we see through the portals captivated me as a kid... like their journey is taking them through relatively peaceful grasslands interrupted by occasional, unavoidable treks into great danger...
