Hi, I'm listening to Homestuck Made This World, Episode 10 Part 1, and just got to the part about Shifty Look. Have you ever seen/have you recently thought about Wicked Powered, the webcomicsona of pseudo-defunct high power laser pointer brand Wicked Lasers?
I don't remember the plot in almost any detail, except there's time travel, scifi magical girls, a gender swap (caution, 2006-2010), and the ending of the story is it's own incitement; but importantly the comic has since then maintained schedule, reposting every page in order. Playing out it's canonical time loop in "real time" under the authors' threat that they would like to break from the loop and continue the story some day, funding permitting
i was going to say i had not heard of this, but then i looked it up and realized it must have existed in the peripheries of my awareness in some way--it's hosted on Keenspot (a big deal collective in 00s webcomics that i think i brought up on HMTW at least once) and was co-written by Keenspot founder Chris Crosby and artist Owen Gieni, who together also did a notorious gamer comic called Sore Thumbs, about this nerdy guy who is constantly getting compromising looks at these two other lady characters who are always hanging around him for reasons i don't remember (they maybe run a gaming store together??). but anyway they look like stacked booth babes and the horny cheesecake levels are off the charts. this is all to say that i was in no way surprised when i went back to the first comic in this sponsored laser pointer series (it's incredible this exists and in such a weird form as you describe, also the current repeat seems to have stalled in April) and saw that this whole thing begins with a guy lying in bed snuggled by three scantily clad ladies who i can immediately surmise are anthropomorphized versions of the various models of laser pointer
