hi im moose/erasmus

a problem i have with k6bd is that i feel so aware of a lot of stuff its downstream of that i rankle at what seem like attempts to convey revalatory profundity. and maybe that's unfair. maybe im really rankling at a fandom impulse to treat things as revelatory profundity rather than the textual presence of that, in a way i usually avoid. maybe its some o both.

in reply to @icbmoose's post:

the part i think of the most is how it's explicitly pulling from Morrowind for some of its narrative mysticism stuff, which is itself pulling a lot of its ideas and trappings from Glorantha, which i have a lot of affection for - tons of both old and new ttrpg material in that setting that is fun to peruse, as well as King of Dragon Pass and the Six Ages games

also i think its worth saying that despite my critical thoughts i have no particular qualms about the idea of people enjoying k6bd. in particular i know i don't connect as much to many works on the level of interpersonal character interaction as much as many people do, and i imagine that for those that do it has a lot to offer

oh yeah I get it. in my case I find it difficult to really be affected by comics and narrative visual media for whatever reason. and regardless I think it is valuable to see what things a story is pulling from! thanks for the suggestions
