theres a guy who makes videos of makin complicated chocolate objects and he's really popular on tumblr and a lot o folks there say things like "i love how happy he is about what hes doing" and while the videos are very impressive, the guy has a very static smile that wigs me out on a primal level. it reads as a very practiced but still kinda stilted cross between advertiser and customer service face to me and it makes the guy and the comments way weirder. i dunno if im being deeply unfair or what but i cannot see the expression as anything but an act (and im like pretty familiar with acting an emotional affect for the benefit of others thats not even a value judgment on it bein inauthentic or somethin just an ultimately inconsequential but somehow particularly jarring fundamental disconnect from things other people seem to process differently)
