I'd been mulling it for years and knew it was more or less an inevitability as I got into arcade PCB collecting especially, but after reading some reviews and hearing it was pretty well regarded as a compact solution, I ordered a Pinecil and a bunch of tips to go with it so I can finally start learning how to solder in earnest. Still got some other stuff to buy, especially a table I'll be dedicating to this sort of work so I don't damage any other furniture, and I'm gonna be taking it slow and simple at first starting with some basic cartridge battery replacements and taking it from there, but I'm genuinely excited! I've gotten less skittish about taking my consoles apart after successfully replacing bad disc drives and stuff over the years and it's gonna be nice to be able to finally take it to the next level, however modest it might be.😌
