A genie gives you one wish to completely alter the world and modern society with one big catch it has to be something petty, personal, somewhat irrational, and chosen from something that has caused you incredible frustration despite usually being nothing more than a minor inconvenience. It's something you'd complain about.
Rules:
- no big positive stuff like removing capitalism, hierarchy, health insurance, etc. that's too rational and outside the spirit of the exercise.
- it will be applied across the entirety of humanity culture going forward.
My answer:
No More Urinals. Get rid of them. A completely useless and unnecessary invention.
If it's something that requires connecting to some remote server, and you decide it's EOL, you have to immediately opensource it so people can easily set up their own servers and point the thing at that instead.
Smart devices, games, don't care. You open-source it.
Sorry, kids. Nobody's graduating from elementary school until you've read my screeds on the differences between Japanese visual novels, dating sims, and adventure games and you can pass the requisite standardized test with a perfect score. Nobody can be expected to be a contributing member of society in the 21st century if they can't keep that much straight.
