Putting the Retro Fighters wireless PS2 controller and its analogue triggers through their paces the one regular gamer way I know how tonight: by commuting through Tokyo in a bus. π
(Tokyo Bus Guide 2 makes the kinda admirable, if also rather boneheaded design decision of putting braking and accelerating on L2 and R2, which would be perfectly valid on literally any other console that generation, but then it still expects you to finesse them like you have the full throw of proper triggers just because they're technically analog buttons, which basically means you're constantly trying to push down hard, but not too hard and, lemme tell you, it's just not a fun time for long stretches! Which is a shame because it's otherwise generally a marked improvement over the original in a lot of ways. It's still overly sensitive even with this new controller, but it definitely feels far more manageable than before and I look forward to digging into this game in earnest now that that issue is solved enough for my liking. π₯³)
