the "bachelor's degree (completed or in progress)" bit is particularly harrowing. granted, I'm not sure if it's atypical to allow in-progress degrees as qualification -- but it comes off rather like "we're searching for young people who just don't know any better!", in this case

Yeah, that one made me crack up, too. It's not unheard of for actual translation agencies to waive a degree requirement if you're natively bilingual and/or can demonstrate sufficient skill and experience, but this definitely reeks of exploitation more than anything else. I've never seen wording quite like that on any legitimate listings in the decade and change I've been doing this, that's for sure!
