I had not been on a bike since 2017 and I finally got a chance to try again by taking one from the local bike share system. I was really scared of not knowing how to ride one but turns out I do!
There's a bike station close to my workplace and one in the subway station I usually get to for my bus to work. With some more practice (and a helmet) I feel pretty confident I could make that travel and skip the bus altogether. I've been thinking about getting an ebike down the road and now that I have evidence I know how to bike I feel a lot more justified in that decision.
Got a helmet yesterday and today I did the ride from work to the subway!
It was pretty cozy, mostly as the start and middle were all in cycling roads. I'm still skittish about the streets but I figure I'll get better at it as I get more experience. Knees are sore but I'm happy nonetheless, especially considering it was my first serious ride of any distance since I was a kid lmao
Promised the wife i'm getting pads too.
