egg = sike mama = round thing of origins
egg bug = pipi pi sike mama

'pipi sike' definitely communicates 'round' but i feel like it doesn't adequately communicate 'egg'

(mi wile pona e ni: mi jan ala, mi soweli Pinki)

to do this for vietnamese (which i can somewhat speak still) one runs into the issue where you have to decide if they're an egg shaped bug ( con bọ trứng ) or bug shaped egg ( quả trứng bọ, although that would probably translate as ’bug eggs’)

literally? insettuovo. however, I hate that. eggbug is punchy and insettuovo has all the punch of wet toilet paper.

we don't know much about the eggbug, but we do know it is a winged bug. there's a lot of winged bugs: mostly, mosquitoes (zanzare), wasps (vespe), flies (mosche), horseflies (tafani), moths (tarme). I'd say eggbug is kinda like a big fly — and moscone is already a word in Italian for a big fly. so moscuovo is a little better for me as a translation. not great, but better
