Since it's spotify wrapped season, it's also HEY REMEMBER SPOTIFY SUCKS season, and I'm absolutely here for it. But that's brought up the issue for people of the convenience and such of having the convenient aspects of streaming to some extent.

Music server solutions of all shapes and sizes exist! And if you want something with the sleek feel of apple music or spotify, you can find tons to host your music with. A friend of mine runs navidrome, but I've been running with koel for a long time (I think 6 years at this point). It works!

First version was running off a DigitalOcean droplet, but we recently moved it to Amber's old laptop, and it runs via an official Docker container. With some proper firewall settings and a reverse DNS, I can get access to all my music collection at home from anywhere. It's handy! I think there's music here that I've been listening to since I got my first little nugget back in 2006 with like 128 megs or something.

I gotta move a couple soundtracks and frankly just go wild and add more to this place. When it was hosted on the cloud, the major limiting factor was bandwidth and limited storage space. Now that neither is a real concern, I can probably get more ambitious. Got a bunch of albums to pick up from bandcamp and a lot more to pirate.

I don't really have a point here, I just got around fixing a couple issues with the docker install and now this works flawlessly so I wanted to share.
