OKAY ive had this conundrum for a while and i just realized cohost might be a good place to go for help!! i specifically need help from anyone who orders stuff from japan, but specifically people who order 18+ stuff, and ESPECIALLY people who order 18+ books. also especially lost media but that might be too niche for me to find anyone
i recently got a few things from jp yahoo auctions: i got three books and a splatoon gun. the books in question that i got were one splatoon book, and then two artbooks from a japanese artist i really like. HOWEVER. the artist does 18+ work, and as such both artbooks are nsfw. one of them only has suggestive stuff and one tiny shirtless doodle and otherwise is sfw! however... the other artbook is another story.
this specific artbook is lost media afaik. i havent found the illustrations in it online. so its extremely important that i get it safely. however, while half of it is an artbook, the other half is manga. the manga portion is unimportant as its been rereleased and isnt lost media and i also dont particularly care about it BUT it is most definitely nsfw without question, and is also Kinda Questionable.
anyway that said. im pretty sure that this means that that book, and possibly both artbooks, would be prohibited to be shipped outside of japan. Thats Not Good!!! this book is probably partially lost media and i really REALLY want to scan the pages and make the art available!!
that being said, how much should i worry about this? should i ship the book to my friend in japan and have him bring it with him next time he flies over or would that be riskier? should i ship the lost media book separately? should i ship the two artbooks together and the splatoon stuff together in two different packages? should i ship all the books together and just the splatoon gun separately? would it be fine to just ship everything in one big package or would that be riskier???
keep in mind i really dont have much money rn in the first place so im not too keen on shipping in separate packages since the shipping costs are so steep. but i really dont want to loose any of the artbooks. theyre rare enough that i doubt i could ever get them again, especially the lost media one.
i really dont know what the best call here is. i dont want to loose these books. i assume its not too big of a deal but i dont want to take a risk here. what should i do
