she was a lead composer on both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom (along with writing a bunch of tunes for animal crossing and other games), she fucking killed it both times and it's all the more impressive considering I'm pretty sure she's still in her 30s!

game composers usually don't get much spotlight unless you're like, Koji Kondo or Mick Gordon so I figured I'd share this so people can match a name and a face to the work

or Kazumi Totaka. or Martin O'Donnell. or Toby Fox.

okay, okay, here's one: Hajime Wakai. doesn't even have a Wikipedia article, yet did all the composing for Pikmin 1, almost all of it for Pikmin 2 (Totaka composed a couple songs uncredited), and he's been composing for Nintendo since Star Fox 64 and is still there helping out on Breath, Tears, etc. The first two Pikmin soundtracks are some of my favorites in video game history, and this guy barely gets any notice.

edit: oh I didn't realize Wakai actually got the "sound designer" title on Breath. Honestly I've heard of Kataoka more than Wakai in relation to these Zelda games haha.
