Queer indie dev. Kinda feral.

I co-run a video game cooperative called Studio Terranova with @mabbees.

Terranova is our FIRST BIG GAME produced by Mabbees, my co-dev, and I. It took us three years...and it's finally FINISHED. It's a game about 2000's fandom nostalgia and queer girls on the internet.

Four images of a Windows XP desktop with chats and a blog open

It has...

  • A nostalgic interface that transports you to a time before Twitter
  • A full ten hours of story, complete with romance, drama and plot twists galore
  • A LimeJournal for you to blog about your life
  • Fully functional IM to chat your friends and Solitaire to waste time while you chat your friends
  • Your choices matter; three unique endings based on your choices
  • Roleplay. Lots and lots of roleplay.

If you like any of the above, come check it out!

Terranova is available on itch.io and Steam.

We're only two devs and don't have the marketing budget of a triple-A game.

Please rehost and share. πŸ’š

terranova thoughts
cool that was fun

i have never used an instant messanger. i have very little experience roleplaying. i have almost no nostalgia for this setting because it's not a setting i've ever experienced. this game is a buggy mess at times. i will likely never so much as launch this game again. i will not replay it to try and get one of the different endings.

oh and it's quite possibly the best game i've ever played. in my life. at the very least, it really connected with me.

play it. it has a demo, try the demo. and play it.

spoiler-free random thoughts:
[show][hide]at first i thought 'oh, wouldn't it be cool if the characters would notice if you took a while to respond to something'. and i am very glad they do not. i am so increadibly glad i can pause and drag their chat window down to hide it below the screen and play a round of solitaire before going back to the game.

world's least-spoilery ending spoilers:
[show][hide]"oh it's going to end here, isn't it". and it could end there. if it did end there, it would still be amazing. but it doesn't. it gives you a little bit longer. it ends a little bit later. i'm glad.

I am happy to announce that our game is no longer a buggy mess. Patch 1.2.0 is out and has fixed issues @noa and other players have pointed out.

Huge thanks to folks who pointed out the bugs and thank you for your patience while Mabbees and I hunted for those buggos.
