quitting fgs entirely and going in hard on sound voltex, for me, has been really really good and im really happy. lots of fun seeing improvement and also just playing the game. playing the game itself is just fun lol. the process of "song too hard to clear -> good enough to barely clear -> come back and get a nice score -> forever" is really nice. every time i try a chart and it's really hard or has a pattern i have trouble with it's a set up for coming back later and adding that pattern to my "i can do it decently well" collection. currently struggling with reading some laser patterns and of course. really fast jacks or trills. but i know when i can do them better i will know it and it will feel really good.
i hope french bread continues to release games that personally disappoint me (even if im probably never playing them again) and only me because there's legitimately a trend of "game comes out i don't like playing it -> through mysterious means my life takes a miraculous turn". i would not have met my current gf ever at all if uniclr had playable online. i might not even be called bea lmao. similarly, i probably wouldn't be playing as much sound voltex if uni2 wasn't In My Opinion the worst game i've ever played bad.
