this is the first time i've ever done this for any kind of controller outside of trying to save a broken playstation controller. it was scary at first bc there's a bunch of buttons, bunch of switches, bunch of wires to each button and each switch, etc etc but overall it's not too complicated. the only major block in the process was that taking apart the fx buttons (small rectangular guys) took legit 20-30 minutes to figure out and muster the strength to take apart two little buttons. haha. but as with the rest of this process it will all be so much easier every time i repeat this in the future (going to try my best to do it every 3 months or so). first time is always the scariest but now this experience has become my strength... that said i have almost certainly mixed up a couple of switches but i should be able to tell them apart once they're plugged in and i can see what colors the leds are when lit.
but ya given that it's not completely done (have to reassemble once everything has dried fully) it's already a satisfying experience. cleaning out little bits of junk from under the top of the controller, getting my knobs squeaky clean etc.
feels good (:
