finally at the point where 17s will be my main focus now! which, yeah, that's probably gonna be a while lol. im still really happy with and honestly impressed by the progress i've been able to make thus far. like the first time i attempted 竹 at least a month ago it seemed completely unfathomable (actually thinking back i probably selected the wrong difficulty). as i have mentioned before this is yet another case of the rhythm games experience of "run into challenge > impossibly hard > play other stuff > come back > significantly easier" and it still feels good every time.
as im going through the 17s folder and crashing on the harder ones, im gonna be thinking "yeah you got me this time, but just wait" because that's just how it is. it's gonna be hard, but that's what makes it feel good when you overcome the barriers.
anyways i'm looking forward to revisiting the arcade next month whilst visiting gf bc i've come a really long way from my first plays over there. get to show off in front of friends wahaha. and it's not gonna end! i just probably won't be clearing 18s before then hehe

really good sound voltex session today (: added a bunch of S's and a UC and other upscores in the 16s, and cleared a few more 17s. going to start playing more of 17s bc im clearing the lower level ones without too much difficulty. a long way from like "good scores" (970 or better (subjective)) but 950 on sight reads for a higher difficulty is yeah im pretty happy about it! theres def going to be stuff that's like just like nothing i've done before and that will cause difficulty. but i will simply learn those too and be better for it (: feeling good about progress but definitely not in any hurry. im having fun atm just tightening up scores where i can and playing new songs. speaking of, when will they discount those packs... i've already mapped out which ones i wanna grab (9, 15, 17) when they're half off it's just a matter of waiting. hoping it's soon since the last big sale was 3 months ago so it's kind of around that time i think. anyways yay fun yay

its genuinely a little hard to tell if its like. easy and looks complicated, or hard and looks and is complicated. honestly the issue im having is that when i miss one it dims that laser out which makes the upcoming bits basically impossible to read. not impossible but absolutely harder. also this is just one sorta trick in the chart that i can't get. there's a few others! it's a meanie!

revelation last night that maybe and just maybe, and at least for the ones in the image shown, the little jumps where the lasers shift to the side before continuing with their crossing stuff -

i think you can just pretend they aren't there and play it the same as if they weren't there.

reasoning being that the shift is basically seemingly covered by the motions you would do on the knobs if the shifts weren't there. also: it would be really hard. doing a really precise jump and then really quickly like instantly almost going to the pattern is iunno i mean i obviously am not doing it well lol.

getting a couple S's and UC's in the lowest difficulty 16s and struggling to clear the higher difficulty ones. but most of them have clears it's just like. ten or so that are completely bonkers and will require research. there's also a couple 15s im missing the hard clear on bc frankly. they are jank lmao. ponder these jacks.
goals atm are getting those clears on all the 16s, and getting at least 970 on as many as i can. wanna reach a nice level of comfort on these before i try jumping up to 17s. there's no rush! i will get there soon enough (: also i finally cleared khamen break exh that guys a jerk lmao. song kind of bangs though anyways yay voltex
