There’s something cheesy and charming about 2000s-era 3D desktop environments like 3DNA, BumpTop, and Compiz. They weren’t particularly useful as an evolution on the standard desktop, but by god they’re fun and flashy, and they represent how people will always keep experimenting new ways to make fetch (Read: Fully-spatial computer interfaces) happen. And I think that’s just cute. :P

edit: oh you can just install it, and even though it crashes as soon as I try to do anything past the tutorial, I'm already mad this isn't how computers work
thank you for this post! i've been trying to track down 3DNA for years, but all I had to go on were half remembered child memories of installing it from a gaming magazine demo-dvd
