There’s something cheesy and charming about 2000s-era 3D desktop environments like 3DNA, BumpTop, and Compiz. They weren’t particularly useful as an evolution on the standard desktop, but by god they’re fun and flashy, and they represent how people will always keep experimenting new ways to make fetch (Read: Fully-spatial computer interfaces) happen. And I think that’s just cute. :P
Also a shout out to the mid to late 90’s equivalents, particularly Packard Bell Navigator (which our first win95 PC came with!)
