Taking advantage of new features introduced in Decker v1.31, I'm excited to release a new module that may be handy for anyone interested in using Decker to make Visual Novels or similar interactive media: Decker Dialogizer!
This library provides customizable/themeable modal dialogs, including support for multiple-choice prompts, interpolating variables into dialog, background animation, and rich text. There's even a mechanism for orchestrating entire "cutscenes" (as shown above in The Mystery of the Winged Magenta Ovoid) with most of the "script" expressed as rich text in a field interspersed with user-defined "commands" to control the action. As I note in the Decker community forum post, Dialogizer won't make Decker a replacement for specialized tools like Twine or Ren'Py, but it can help you get a lot closer without having to write very much Lil.
I'd love to hear what you folks think!
