there are good posts going around about desktop GUIs and i really want to make a post about the state of TUIs because that's where i've been focusing lately, and frankly — perhaps it's the case that Everything Old Is New Again, but imo there's some really cool stuff happening in that space. well, cool to me, a person who got Really Into trying to do everything in the terminal ca. 2012 and only very recently got back into it.
in the meantime, i'll plug zellij, a terminal workspace/layout engine (you could think "like tmux", but that made me think i had no use for it) which imo is doing an incredible job of being both powerful and approachable at once. great things are happening in the land of text and rectangles, i'm tellin' ya!!
