is there still really no way to download windows-only Steam Next Fest demos on linux despite proton being RIGHT THERE
please tell me there's a way to bypass this bullcrap
hi there. i'm inbtwn. nice to meet ya!
i sometimes post about Things, mostly niche internet things like youtube videos, webcomics, etc. but i also reblog (rebug) a LOT of cool things so uhhh be warned
please tell me there's a way to bypass this bullcrap
i've had success using steamcmd to make the client download things on unsupported platforms (specifically: rct2 on mac so that i can load it into openrct2). dumb as hell that it's not Actually Supported but hopefully that workaround works.
if you go into Steam Settings > Steam Play > "Enable Steam Play for all other titles", it should let you select a version of Proton to use by default for non-linux games, including demos (i'm pretty sure)!!
