I really thought things were looking up, with Mo Ran becoming self-aware and working to be a better person, but volume 4 of "The Husky and His White Cat Shizun" sees Rou Bao Bu Chi Rou taking us (me) to a new stage of frustration: horny, uncommunicative pining on both sides.
Ingrid, why are you even reading danmei if you don't want that? Baby, I want some yearning mixed in with serial killers and political intrigue and crushing skulls with bare hands and forced cannibalism and stacks of corpses and the ratio in volume 4 is mostly uncommunicative horniness with very little of the mystery of why Mo Ran is back in the past and why things are changing without his interference.
MORE PLOT.
FEWER WET DREAMS AND MASTURBATING AGAINST INN WALLS.
In a different direction, I try not to comment on translations, especially involving languages I can't read, but I am really annoyed by the choice Seven Seas seems to have made across their danmei imprint to translate weiqi as 'chess'. It's go. Say go. People reading these books will know what go is. I just put 'weiqi' into wikipedia search and it redirected me to the page for go. It's go.
JUST SAY GO.
