A joy of mine has always been looking at art for trading card games, especially the art that long-time players of said game refer to uncharitably as 'old', 'weird', or 'bad'. If you've never looked at a gallery of all the cards from Homelands, considered by many to be Magic the Gathering's worst expansion set, then please take this opportunity to do so now. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Anyway. Lately this TCG-art-appreciation hobby of mine has evolved into a burning desire to make up a trading card game of my own. Initially I was just going to make character art and slap some random stats onto them as a joke, but the longer I thought about it, the more I got interested in designing actual, internally-consistent rules. It's too early to tell if this makes the joke more or less funny, but now I'm too deep in to stop.

And so without further ado, I present the first spoiler for DeemunZlash, my new trading card game:

An image of a card for the trading card game I'm designing, DeemunZlash. The card art depicts a little green rat-like demon making off with a bag of potatoes at what looks like a farmer's market. The card text is as follows:
Name: Tubersneak
Height: Short
Eyes: Beady
Dunking: Poor
Disposition: Cheeky
Temperament: Melancholic
Thief (As an action, this deemun can remove one item from an adjacent deemun's inventory and add it to their own.
Inventory +1
Flavor text: A scrawny little deemun who just can't stop stealing starchy crops. No root vegetable is safe from his sticky paws.
Power Levels: Head -5, Body 0, Tail 0
made with @nex3's grid generator

I'll post the actual rules another time (once I get them into a readable state and not just a series of messy, unordered ravings in a google doc), but for now, enjoy the cute little deemun known as Tubersneak and look out for more in the future!
