for the new off topic entry of CANON FIRE, I talk about "prescriptive" ideas of game criticism, and how they attempt to fit all games within a mold of what a "good game" looks like, and how that often leads to shallow reads on art that don't engage with the piece in front of them.
I also touch upon how games unknowingly replicate ideas of liberal meritocracy, and breakdown the wretched ideaology behind the concept of "flow" that's pervaded games.
