I recently ran out of Spotify student premium (according to them one is only allowed to be a student for four years) so I'm looking at other streaming services1 with the same sort of student plan. I know I could cheat and make a second Spotify account but I figure I might as well explore a bit. I do currently use SoundCloud without a paid account, but I hear Deezer is another popular option. Has anyone used Deezer before? How is it?

  1. preëmptively: pls don't recommend bandcamp, I use that too separately2

  2. or funkwhale. I did that for a bit a few years ago and I decided that I really missed algorithmic recommendations and not having to maintain a music library server myself

in reply to @ionchy's post:

I've been using Youtube with an adblocker since forever. NewPipe and PipePipe on me phone. The Algorithm™ now starts to recommend music/videos related to the one you're listening again on the canonical frontend, after so many years not doing it.

Also, Deezer used to be cool and work well with their free tier, like, 13 years ago. idk how they're doing now.
In fact your comment had me look up whether they still exist or not.
