these are allbirds tree runners which I've been wearing as my everyday shoes when it's not raining1. I think they're very comfy and fit my ridiculous wide feet much better than the sneakers I've had before, but it hasn't even been a year and already they're rather worn out. the worst part is the heels of the soles being worn flat, because several times now I've nearly done a terrible slip on a slick surface. for my own safety it's probably time to get a new pair of shoes and I will probably get another pair of allbirds but it's such a shame! aside from the worn-out soles they're still fairly whole and useable, and since they're washable they'll look even better on the outside after they're cleaned.

I really wish I could just replace the soles; maybe I could cut some shapes out of the soles a different pair of old shoes and just glue those on?? I know I should buy shoes that are designed for its soles to be replaced, but I have a feeling they'd be really expensive and nowhere near as comfy as these. breaking in my winter leather boots last winter was already tough enough, I don't want to have to do that for shoes I intend to be walking around in for hours every other day...

  1. and also maybe once or twice or thrice when it was raining when I forgot to check the forecast
