Canadian supermarket chain Loblaw Companies Ltd. announced today a no name® spin-off brand, 冇名mou ming®, in response to Canada's growing Cantonese diaspora.

"We recognize that a significant proportion of our customers are Hong Kongers or first- and second-generation Hong Kong immigrants," states CEO Galen Weston Jr., "and we want to acknowledge their cultural heritage. To this end, we are introducing a Cantonese no name® spin-off brand, as well as a new line of products that caters specifically to Cantonese tastes."

The newly-announced products include canned 羅宋湯lo sung tong ("Russian soup"), frozen 便利店燒賣bin lei dim siu maai ("convenience store fish paste and pork dumplings"), and bottled 絲襪奶茶si mat naai caa ("silk sock milk tea").

Gradual rollout of 冇名mou ming® products begins this October, starting with various Loblaw supermarket chains in Richmond, BC and Scarborough, ON, where Cantonese diaspora is most heavily represented. Weston projects that all Loblaw chains carrying no name® products will also carry 冇名mou ming® products by the end of 2025.
