there's various objections to bluesky both valid and overblown but the main reason I'm not joining is that even if it were perfect and run by saints, the idea of a "Twitter replacement" currently feels like if you had a splinter pulled out and the doctor asked what you'd like to replace it with

Like even if it does become the new mainstream brain hive that "everyone" is on now that I'm out of it I'm realizing they can just go do their thing over there and I'm not missing out by not joining
we have a new, better splinter. it's kind of the same splinter and it's from the same tree but we call it splintwo
so far I'm having fun but I also never overcame my addiction to twitter, bluesky is better in that sense for easily definable reasons (my friends are there! trans people post nudes constantly!) but arguably not as good as [fishing for an alternative to "breaking the habit"] getting clean FUCK
