So the carrots were cut too thin and broke down. Beef is über tender so falls apart easily. Still not bad on the flavor.

The components of one delicious smelling beef stew. Recipe from the Final Fantasy 14 cookbook.
So far the scent is heavenly. Added a bit of red wine to the onion and carrots for a bit of a bolder flavor profile.
That’s right! Two meals in one with this dish.
A good big pit of heart Arkhan’s Halfing Chili (it’s turkey chili) right for warning you up on a cold evening OR add some noodles and top with said chili for a good old Spaghetti Red!
Now excuse me while I go into food coma land~
Even before I got to adding the protein to it, it smelt amazing. Cooking the onions in the rendered bacon fat and then adding in the garlic and spice mix to fragrance was divine. My house smelt amazing.
The dish while imposing at fire with all the prep you'd want to have done will come together very quickly once you start. I used some thick cut hickory bacon to add a little flavor but the cloves, all spice, chili powder, etc... really carried the flavor here. The cloves did feel a bit over power in the scent and taste department so I think I'll reduce that or double everything else next time and see the results.
I give this a 10/10 on the delicious scale because everyone in the house loved it.
