there's a road with a gorilla statue here.

or the upper body of one anyway. it's emerging from the ground, holding a flagpole and screaming. the statue makes me laugh every time i pass it because i just imagine this gorilla is somehow embroiled in an incredibly dire situation that hinges on it holding the flagpole. maybe it's being held under duress, or the pole is holding the earth together.

a while back a storm came through and fucked it up pretty bad, so for a while the arms were broken and had vines growing up between the cracks and gouges. but the gorilla kept screaming and holding the flagpole. it endures to this day
