Howdy! I'm Eli, a queer, trans nonbinary artist in the Seattle area. I like drawing animals, learning new software, and making high effort shitposts.
Before the pandemic, I had a pretty successful online shop and I'd table at 3-5 conventions each year, and I was doing the whole freelance hustle for about 10 years. I stopped to rest in December 2019 and The Genders caught up with me and I had to rebrand (myself and my art). Then the pandemic hit and everything ended up on pause.
I'm really exhausted by the business side of being an artist lately, between socmed platforms being shitholes and punishing creatives for not purchasing ads and the whole devaluation of art due to the popularity of generative ai, not to mention how trivial this all seems while witnessing several ongoing genocides and unabated climate disaster.
My etsy was shut down at the start of 2023 due to too many takedown requests (the precarious nature of fanart) and I only just started doing shows again in the fall this year and don't have anything booked for next year.
It took me most of the year to get my shop back up again as I had to redo pretty much everything - 7 years of listings and photos and reviews, gone. Pretty demoralizing. Anyways, sorry for the very last minute posting. Please take a look at my shop, share with your friends, etc. Anything helps!
