as i hear the story told, Otomo Katsuhiro had slated this for usage as the movie's score but the head of this band, Tsutomu Ohashi, stage name Yamashiro Shoji, had originally created this to score the film but for reasons i'm not quite clear on seems to have decided to start over again from scratch to end up with what we now know as the AKIRA score. still liking what he came up with, he decided to release it independently, and this is what we find ourselves contending with in this moment.
