ok so it looks like there is no rqg fandom at all on here yet which is sad because it's my personal favourite podcast.
i think i might just start making some posts about it and hopefully other people will join in at some point!
anyway azu is absolutely the best character of all time. i love how everyone else was like "ooh my character has a traumatic/overcomplicated backstory that involves the death of at least one loved one" and she was just like "i'm gonna become a paladin of aphrodite!! yayy :D"
and the way she's introduced? absolutely brilliant. i'm listening to rqg for the fourth time rn and i can't wait until we get to cairo (currently i'm on like episode 31 or something)
and grizzop! my beloved little goblin boy who will shoot your kneecaps off! truly amazing character, so efficient, jumped out of a carriage once!! how cool (and/or stupid) is that!!!!!
but first we have the paris arc. and i honestly can't wait. it's brilliant. it's like This Is Where Things Get Serious. no more fish puns in a temple of poseidon, no more taming random dogs with eel quiche - sorry, KEEEEEEEESH - we're really in it now. dangerous monsters in the catacombs! getting sooooo close to a tpk!! mr fucking ceiling!!!!!! and the reality of being a "hero", which isn't always as glamorous or even heroic as it seems. i do generally prefer the later arcs (think damascus onwards), mainly because the characters are more confident and skilled and also bertie isn't there, but the paris arc is truly amazing in its own way. i can't help but wonder what alex had planned for eiffel's folly - how dangerous would it have been? would sasha have gotten to kill the french gang boss in a moment that beautifully reflected her hate for barrett, a moment that would later be mirrored perfectly in damascus when she leaves him alive? how would the party have reacted to seeing, meeting, talking to all the people that would later be destroyed by guivres? would guivres even have shown up if the london rangers (we're still working on the name) had managed to de-escalate the situation in paris?
questions upon questions, none of which will ever be answered because such a significant change to the plot would definitely have changed some major plot points in the campaign, and also alex probably re-used some of his plans for eiffel's folly later in other places. but it's fun to speculate!
anyway expect more rqg posts on this blog as time goes on. i love rambling about this podcast so very much, if you're a fan too and have your own opinions, please please please tell me so we can be insane about rqg together!!
