This is basically the same thing as what I did for Gates. Minor early game spoilers and maybe some bits and pieces from Gates
So far it's fixed a lot of the issues I had with Gates! Although theres still a few things here and there that bother me, plus a few new things.
Here's a list with various points and fixes and complaints ive noticed so far
-
The AI seems a LOT smarter, they seem to know how to use ranged moves a lot better and they've only gotten lost from me once or twice, which is very different from Gates where I had to carry a Reunion Scarf in my inventory at all times because it was a guarantee that they would get lost

I don't really like the pushing mechanic that much. I still use it every now and again, but I would really perfer an option in the settings that just swaps the function of it (B to push rather than B not to push) because I end up shoving allies out of the way a lot more than I actually use the mechanic.

Hunger's back! Although I think I'm impartial to the mechanic... it feels like it gives me a completely different play style while I'm in-dungeon.
-
Overworld movement is... so... so much nicer... especialy since my circle pad isn't a viable option. Gates kinda just felt way too slippery with it.
-
I love the little characters from all of the previous games, seeing Emolga and Dunsparce was a nice little treat and Hydreigon knowing who you actually were was pretty funny~
-
The dungeon view has been zoomed out again! While Gates did feel a bit more cozier... it did feel a bit cramped when I couldn't actually see that my 4th party member was fighting.
-
On a note about the graphics... I'm not really a fan of how starting with OR/AS and PSMD the Pokemon games started getting a bit... too colorful? Like compare the grass in OR/AS to B/W or even X/Y and you'll see what I mean...
Overall... just a bit better than Gates... more challenging... a new experience ^^
