If we're gonna retread the 70s can we bring back the glut of mainstream outwardly queer musicians? Like, bring back hair metal and genderfuck, except instead of being "oooh mystique and deconstructing stereotypes without actually being trans"* type genderfuck just make it as patently trans as possible. Also we can bring back disco too.
We lost a lot of greats to the AIDS crisis and we don't have to have that happen this time. Freddie Mercury was an absolute legend who died before his time. David Bowie just being bi mystified the mainstream to no end. The Village People are still played in extremely straight settings to this day despite all their famous songs being thinly veiled gay metaphor.
